08 Aug East Side Story
Step outside our office today and plumes of smoky dust, and the soothing sounds of a ten-tonne digger will greet you. And it’s all in the name of beauty, darling.
As part of a scheme to improve Bromley North Village, East Street is currently being transformed. The work, which includes creating wider pavements, introducing more trees, and new lights and street furniture, is intended to attract more visitors and boost local businesses.
And it’s not just East Street that’s being given a face-lift, the £5.2m project, in partnership with Transport for London and the Mayor’s Outer London Fund, encompasses Market Square and High Street North too.
It will give you a good excuse to come and visit us, and will certainly help some of our neighbours, like delicious Mediterranean restaurant, Aqua Bar & Grill – their A-boards (designed by us) are sure to attract more Al Fresco diners once the street revamp is complete. I know we’re looking forward to an after-work beer in the sun!
The work on East Street is due for completion in November 2013. You can find out more about the Bromley North village public realm improvements here.
