RONIN Meet The Team – Daniel

RONIN Meet The Team – Daniel

How long have you worked at RONIN?

I started at Ronin on the 5th January 2016.

What’s your background? i.e. qualifications, past experience

At university I studied Product Design, mainly focused on furniture. I studied in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire I have always wanted to do something design related. After university, I decided to concentrate on getting a job, and did some work experience with a local graphic designer. After a couple of weeks I decided that this was what I wanted to do as a proper job! I was lucky enough to be offered a permanent position and my graphic design career began. My next role was at a large publishing house based in Blackfriars, where I learned a lot of the necessary skills in layout and production, as well as continuing to develop as a designer. I then joined the in-house marketing department at an automotive dealership group, where I learned about digital design and marketing, as well as managing multiple projects at the same time.

It has always been an ambition of mine to work in an agency environment, where I can push myself to improve my skills and help clients to present themselves as professional and progressive companies.

What does your day-to-day job involve?

I work with a wide range of clients, and each day requires a slightly different approach. It could involve designing a logo, producing a website or constructing an email campaign. But it all starts with a nice cup of tea to help get the creativity flowing!

What’s your favourite part of the job?

The satisfaction of producing a piece of work that the client loves.

What social media platform could you not live without?

Admittedly, I’m a little old-school when it comes to social media, but I’d have to say Facebook, mainly for checking when my friends’ birthdays are! Without Facebook I’d be lost!

What are you interests outside of work?

I like to play football and golf, but these days my fitness levels are gradually sliding. I also used to have an allotment, which I unfortunately had to give up recently.

Who would play you in a film about your life?

If there was a film about my life, I’d quite like Louis Theroux to star in it. I know he’s not an actor, but I think he’d do a good job!

What’s your guilty pleasure?

I have to admit that I actually quite like most 1 Direction songs. I am quite embarrassed by that fact.

If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?

Ambitious, caring, pedantic.

We’re off to the pub – what’s your order?

Probably a gin & tonic, or a mojito if it’s my birthday!
