31 Jul Round-the-clock support from RONIN
We are delighted to announce that the RONIN team are sponsoring the New Beccehamian Hockey Club (NBHC) 24Sports 24Hours charity event on the 15 and 16 August. Members of the hockey club will be divided into two teams, competing across 24 sports, to help raise as much money as possible for the children’s ward at PRU Hospital in Locksbottom, Kent.
The event has been organised by hockey club members James and Alex Grey who’s baby Jenson was diagnosed with meningitis just less than a week after being born in November 2014. Fortunately the meningitis was caught early and Jenson is now fully recovered – a perfect bouncing baby boy. After being discharged the parents committed to raise money for the children’s ward to help fund a Multi-sensory Procedural Distraction Unit. This is to help distract babies and young children while they are having a procedure, and costs £3,500.
To support the event we have been busy preparing for the day by designing t-shirts for the two teams and creating a standout event logo. The designs are clear, fun and easily identified by the NBHC colours. We also wanted to help spread the word about the event so put together a news story for the club website as well as a press campaign to secure opportunities with the local papers. This will continue post event day to alert press on the events success in order to raise any final donations.
“We are delighted to be sponsoring such a worthwhile cause,” Said Steve Lipscombe, Director of RONIN Marketing. “Hospital procedures can be very distressing for children and their parents so we hope plenty of people will be able to give a little to get the unit up and running.”
